Girls and Boys Swimming - Rules

The Swimming programme is now available

The Rules:

Swimming1.The meet will be run under ASA law and FINA technical rules and is licensed by the ASA Midland District

2.The competition is open for swimmers born in 1990, 1991,1992,1993

3. Each team may enter up to a maximum of 10 swimmers (Male or Female).

4. Each team must enter a minimum of 4 swimmers.

5. Cities can only enter 2 swimmers per event

6. Swimmers may enter 3 individual events and the relays.

7. Coventry Swimming Pool is 50m long with 8 lanes, anti-wave lane lines and electronic timing. A warm-up / swim down facility will be available.

8. Entries to be submitted via the Online Registration System by 27th May 2005

9. There will be heats and A and B finals for all events

10. Awards will be made to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed swimmers in each event.

11. Presentations will be during the finals session.

12. There will be a technical meeting on Thursday 7th July 2005.

13. Each team must be represented at this meeting by a coach from within the team

14. Amendments to the entries must be made at the team technical meeting.

15. Swimmers who wish to withdraw from events must inform the organisers at the technical meeting.

16. Start sheets will be available before the start of the competition

17. Information about warm-up regulations will be made available at the technical meeting.

18. Saturdays Swim session will run from 9am until 12 noon and 4pm - 5.30pm.

19. Sunday's Swim Session will run from 8.30am - 12 noon and 3pm until 4pm

20. The 50 metre pool will be available for training on Thursday and Friday 10am - 11am (Group 1) and 11am - 12noon (Group 2). The 25-metre pool on the campus at the University of Warwick will also be available for training.

21. Warm-up on Saturday will take place between 9am - 10am and 3pm - 4pm

22. Warm-up on Sunday will take place between 8am - 9am and 1.30pm - 2.30pm

23. Results will be available at the conclusion of each session and on the ICG web site - www.childrens-games2005.org.uk

24. There will be the following competitions:

  • 50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly
  • 100m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly
  • 400m Freestyle
  • 200m individual medley
  • 400m medley relay, freestyle relay
